Cholesterol: The Cholesterol Test

So, you take your son Bobby, your daughter Jenny, and your husband Willy for a cholesterol test. The doctor sticks the finger and takes a drop of blood to be analyzed in a lab machine. He comes to you with the following numbers:

CHOLESTEROL

Mrs. Sweatheart

35 years old

192 mg per dl

300 mg per dl

155 mg per dl

 

So, what are normal blood cholesterol levels?
Normal cholesterol levels are usually divided into 3 levels: desireable, borderline, and high. Here is a chart to clarify:

Below 170

170 - 199

Anything Above 200

Adult

Below 200

200 - 239

Anything Above 240
